EPK
Dylan Baron is an alternative hip-hop artist and producer whose sound reflects his diverse influences and personal experiences growing up in New Zealand and Australia. Now based in Los Angeles, Dylan continues to captivate audiences with a blend of hip-hop, RnB, and house music. His belief that "music gives meaning to the world around us" is at the core of his creative vision, and this philosophy is on full display in his introspective and genre-bending songs.

In his earlier years, Dylan grew up in South Auckland, where he lived in a middle-class family home. As a child, he would often stare out the car window while his family drove through the less desirable suburbs surrounding his own. The loud rap music people would play in the streets around Manurewa town centre stuck with him from a young age. His fascination with understanding perspectives outside of his own would end up playing a big part in influencing
who he is today.

In his teenage years, Dylan’s family moved to Australia’s Sunshine Coast. There, he attended a Christian high school where he struggled to fit in. His creative ambition was often met with resistance, and he found himself in trouble often. He even ended up being expelled in his final year of school. These experiences of feeling out of place and not having anywhere to belong were pivotal in shaping Dylan's music and identity as an artist.

Through his work, Dylan offers a window into his personal experiences and reflections, drawing from his diverse background to create music that is both meaningful and relatable. His evolution as an artist reflects his journey from South Auckland to Los Angeles, with each stage of his life contributing to the depth and authenticity of his sound. In the years ahead, Dylan looks to expand on his storytelling to create social commentaries on the world around him through his music while continuing to explore different sounds and genres.
